Detroit Auto Show was a great opportunity for truck manufacturer Ram to present a new Black edition of the Ram 1500 Rebel. Notwithstanding, Rebel trim is already famous for its daredevil spirit, the Black edition managed to move the ladder even further. Its muscular and tough exterior has drawn a lot of attention and possibly new admirers.
Ram 1500 Rebel Black Edition – Exterior and Interior Changes
Ram Truck has used already improved chassis of the 2017 Ram 1500 and added that famous Rebel grill combined with powerful fenders. Most parts with this edition are black and dark which give that intimidating look. This is additionally highlighted with 33-inch dark wheels. Like the other Rebel trims, this one will also come only with Crew Cab.
Dark colors will also dominate inside the truck. Other than that interior will be equipped with Ram’s standard features. Black steering wheel with audio controls and improved sound system are borrowed from the current model. Seats are coming with heaters and lumbar support by default and it can be covered with leather on buyer’s demand. Safety features like traction control, airbags, ABS, electronic stability or parking assist are also included.
New Ram 1500 Rebel Black edition will be equipped with two familiar powertrains. The standard engine is 3.6-liter Pentastar V6. Matched with 8-speed automatic transmission it can deliver 305 horsepower and 269 lb-ft of torque. The stronger option is 5.7-liter Hemi V8. With its 395 HP and 410 lb-ft of torque it helps new Rebel to tow up to 10,500 pounds.
Release Date and Price
Since it was already presented at the Detroit Auto Show new Rebel Black edition will probably be available at dealerships by the end of April this year. Its price will be around $46,900 and it can go higher depending on equipment and powertrain choice.
